Captain Planet and the Planeteers was an animated series that ran from 1990 to 1992. In the show five young people are selected from around the world and given power rings to aid them in their quest to save the planet. In the worst situations, they could combine their power to call on the elemental superhero, Captain Planet.
“The Power is Yours!”
These immortal words of our superhero, impacted thousands of people around the world, showing viewers that they each had the power within themselves to make a difference in the world. Many people are now joining efforts in a worldwide Planeteer Movement through the creation of Planeteer networks.

Although our network originates in Kent, OH, our goal is to expand so that we can serve and educate Akron and the surrounding areas. My name is MaryKate. I am the Marketing officer for the Kent State planeteers. I have recently taken over the responsibilities for the website. I think this is a REALLY cool idea.
